Harare, Zimbabwe: The recent five-vehicle collision at Bradford Primary School along Bulawayo Road has highlighted the need for urgent action after a multi-vehicle accident. The area has become notorious for frequent accidents, with the Bradford Primary School junction just after N. Richards becoming a hotspot for accidents, occurring almost every week.
The Passengers Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) national coordinator Tafadzawa Goliati said, “We are sounding the alarm and calling on the relevant authorities to take immediate action to address this significant safety concern.”
In this regard, the coordinator of the Passenger Welfare Association of Bangladesh and Data Analyst at the Accident Monitoring Cell’s Md Ziaul Hoque Chowdhury , said that more studies need to be conducted to get an accurate picture of accidents in different parts of the world. If all countries that have organizations working on passenger rights and welfare conduct research activities by forming monitoring cells in a structured manner, it will be easier to identify many more accident-prone areas and work to prevent them.
He also commented that there is no alternative to the passenger rights organizations of all countries coming together to establish passenger rights in the world.
